How would you
describe your burger?
Doug E. Fresh: Good, but I tasted two others and they were
better
NB: Good
JC: N/A
Two Napkins: Perfect.
Spicy. I was a little scared
about a pretzel bun, because it can be too bready. But the liquid cheese made it soft and just
hearty enough.
Homey 1 Kanobi: Great, but I was disappointed with the
pretzel bun.
Beat Meat: Sweet, salty
The Awesome One: Both were impressive looking – large and full
of flavor.
Hamburgler: It was SO good. It was like POW!!
Beaner: Very good, Loved the thin burger, cooked to
perfection… rare!!
7: Average
S: Original, great flavor
kt: WOW.
This burger knocked my socks off!
It is in my top 3. Perhaps my #1
currently!!! I usually shy away from
“messy” looking burgers, but this one caught my attention, and I am THRILLED
that I ordered it! The meat was perfect,
the peppers/mushroom/onion slaw had a spicy kick to it, and the melted cheese
was heavenly! Even the pretzel bun was
kick ass (which is rare as they are usually dry!). The Salmon burger was kinda blah, but I was
shocked by how much I enjoyed the Sushi Burger!
The BBQ Bourbon Burger was wayyy too dry.
Yoga Foodie: Unique, the crunchy topping was delicious
½ Pound Curler: Fresh Bun – touch dry. Meat was slightly overdone. Pretty good.
Zanzibar
McFarlane: Bland but juicy, the bun was
disappointing. I wish I had ordered the
pretzel bun.

THE APPLE PAN (LAX)
September 13th, 2013
10801 West Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90064
In Attendance:
just lil old me... kt.
My first sighting of the Diet Coke chalice. |
Before I destroyed my burger! So pretty & compact. |
And now comes the good stuff! |
APPLE PAN NOTES:
What did you order?
I ordered a double cheese burger with ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce and cheese. I also ordered a side of fries and a diet coke that was served in a paper snow cone cup, placed inside of a chalice.
How would you
describe your burger?
This is the way a burger should
taste! It was served, wrapped up tightly in a paper wrap because it is
packed soo full of condiments and crispy lettuce that you need some help
keeping your hands clean!
How delicious was it
(1-10)?
9.5
Was there anything
memorable about the food and/or place?
This place has been here since the 20s! They use the same paper cup holders, and it does not look like they have renovated since it was built! Reminds me a LOT of Carl's Drive In here in Missouri! We were also celebrating Boo Boo's 30th Birthday!
Roughly how much was
your order?
$15 for burger, fries and a diet coke.

Deep Burger Thoughts.
I wanted to share a "deep thought" with you... my very few readers...
I don't ever try to be rude, mean, ignorant, or hurtful on this blog... On the contrary, I try to be very honest and transparent in my own reviews. I have eaten WAY too many burgers over this last year, and therefore my 'burger palate' has become much more discerning I suppose.
I realize there are times that we bring in a large group, but I do my best to give the restaurants a heads up (while some of them STILL decide not to mention that Sundays are Brunch only...grr...) I also stand behind the fact that our "ranking sheets" speak for themselves, and service is a HUGE factor in the success of a meal/ BBBC meeting!
I love to support local businesses, and will continue to do so. On behalf of the entire BBBC, I want to thank each and every person who owns/operates/works in a local burger-slinging-establishment! Kudos to you all! Thank you! This club would not be here without you guys!
